All MAT past papers from 2007 onwards, including official marking schemes and candidate average scores, are provided here. Although there were minor changes in 2018, the core content of the exam has remained consistent. To maximize the benefits of these past papers, a recommended study strategy is detailed in a comprehensive guide. Additionally, the appendix of this guide offers a thorough syllabus summary (with examples) and explains the 2018 updates. Following this strategy can greatly enhance students' preparation and performance. MAT Contingency Papers are additional assessments designed for students affected by special circumstances during the exam. These papers consist of 10 multiple-choice questions. The available resources include detailed solution guides and videos for every MAT past paper. These materials aim to help students develop systematic thinking, enhance problem-solving skills, and improve both accuracy and time management.
The 1996-2006 Entrance Exams for Mathematics served as the foundation for the modern MAT. With an identical format, these exams are an excellent resource for students who start their preparation early and may exhaust the more recent MAT past papers. The 2001 paper is nearly identical to the 2000 paper, with the exception of one question in the long-answer section. The 1999 paper is not available. Detailed solutions and comprehensive guides are provided for these legacy papers. While the syllabus for these older exams slightly differs from the modern MAT, the majority of the questions remain highly relevant. Relevance Checkers and Answer Keys To help students identify which questions are still useful for modern MAT preparation, "relevance checkers" have been developed. These tools highlight outdated questions or those with minor details that require attention. Additionally, free answer keys for the multiple-choice section (Question 1) of each exam are available, making these resources incredibly valuable for students during their preparation.
