What is the PAT?
The PAT (Physics Admissions Test) is an internal exam that is required for students wishing to study Engineering Sciences, Materials Science and Physics at Oxford. The PAT is a subject-specific admissions test that lasts 2 hours and is taken under exam conditions. The exam consists entirely of multiple choice questions.
This Oxford admissions test is now computer-based and is taken at the Pearson VUE exam centre. Registration for the exam is available between August and October each year.
The PAT is designed for candidates who have studied the first year of A-Level (or equivalent) Mathematics and Physics and covers content similar to the GCSE and A-Level syllabus.
